AUGUSTA, Maine – Attorney Leah M. Baldacci has joined the Augusta-based law firm Lipman & Katz. Her legal background includes experience in civil litigation matters, including family law, employment law, medical malpractice, workers’ compensation, and personal injury. She joins the Augusta-based firm, which also handles a wide range of cases in personal injury, motor vehicle accidents, family law, business law, employment law, wills and estates, and real estate law.

Baldacci, who joined the firm earlier this month, has specific experience including bicycle accidents, carbon monoxide poisoning, dog bites, motorcycle accidents, slip and fall injuries, traumatic brain injuries, vehicle accidents, workplace injuries, and wrongful death. During her career, she has also played an integral role in cases on appeal and has drafted numerous appellate briefs before the Appellate Division of the Workers’ Compensation Board and the Maine Supreme Judicial Court. Baldacci conducted her first oral argument before the Maine Supreme Judicial Court before completing her first year of practice.
Baldacci earned her Bachelor of Arts, summa cum laude, from the University of Southern Maine, and her Juris Doctor, summa cum laude, from the University of Maine School of Law. While in law school, she served as an extern for Deputy Bar Counsel at the Maine Board of Overseers of the Bar and served as a member of the US:IT Operation Excellence Committee for the University of Maine System. Baldacci also worked as a Student Attorney for the Family Law Division at Pine Tree Legal Assistance, where she represented victims of domestic violence and sexual assault in protection from abuse and divorce matters.
Committed to volunteering and improving the well-being of the underserved in her community, Baldacci continues to serve on the Domestic Violence Panel through the Volunteer Lawyers Project. Prior to joining Lipman & Katz, she worked for a litigation firm in Portland, where her practice focused on personal injury, family law, and workers' compensation matters.
